Longer entry potentially forthcoming. For now:

→ Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] cryptictac! I hope you had/have (time difference suck) an amazing day full of all the love and kindness you deserve! (And stuff, too!) ♥

→ And welcome to [livejournal.com profile] rillarilla! Feel free to ignore my crazy. Or join in! Either way. Or Ey-ther way. ;)

→ Fic: Maybe The Poets Were Right All Along : Stargate: Atlantis | Mike/Elizabeth, John/Elizabeth | Spoilers for The Real World 3x06 through Lifeline 4x02 as well as This Mortal Coil 4x10.

I was really unsatisfied with the way they handled the "let's randomly give Elizabeth a five-minute love interest in the form of some dude we've never seen before and then never mention him again" - plot point. Seriously, writers? Yet another dropped ball in SGA. Show of hands who's surprised? *sigh* Anyway. It annoyed me. So I fixed it. ...sorta.

Oh, excuse me - nine minute love interest. My bad.

(Rant on Stargate and their misogyny at a later date. *headdesk*)

→ Finished Battlestar: Galactica. DAMN YOU, SHOW. Damn you for being GOOD and HEARTBREAKING and OVER. [More on this later - now time for bed. or SGA watchage. Same thing.]

→ I have this quote stuck in my head: "You guys are like Butch and Sundance peering over the edge of a cliff to the boulder-filled rapids 300 feet below, thinking you better not jump 'cause there's a chance you might drown. The President has this disease and has been lying about it, and you guys are worried that the polling might make us look bad? It's the fall that's gonna kill ya."

Any psycho-analysis as to why?

To the sea, Sherman!

OMG is BSG not the most fantastic show EVER to grace computer screens television? I THINK SO.

Sooo gooood. I really loved the way they tied everything together. Continuity for the win.

So does this mean you now have time to watch Farscape? *looks innocent*

(Rant on Stargate and their misogyny at a later date. *headdesk*)
Don't forget the race issues. :) Oh, SHOW, how are you so awesome but SO BAD at the same time. I do not know.

I could try to get my parents to watch it! ...I'll let you know how that goes, hee.

What race issues!? They so totally covered the token racial character requirement! Please. What more do you want from them?

*eyeroll*

So awesome. And yet SO BAD. With so much potential for not-Bad! My soul. They kill it dead. :(

LOL. Good luck with that one.... The show is on crack. :D BUT AMAZING.

(Are you seriously up and coherent?! It's like, 7am where you are. Good grief.)

I saw a recap of a con from last weekend where Jason and Rachel kind of made light of the situation by talking about how they'd have competitions to see who had more lines each week. ("I have 3 lines this week!" "I have 4!!") ...It made me sad.

Well, both my Parents enjoy sci-fi, so... One can hope?

I have to be at work by 8am, and we take the bus, so. Up by 6:30 usually. Par-Tay. But um, no, not conscious. That doesn't happen for a few hours.

The fail. It is so depressing. Someone with brains should really take the show and just re-do it, with character development and a frakking rescue operation and sheppard/weir babies. (I'm so disappointed they aren't using the Atlantis movie to rectify the Weir plot line. It'd be so cool! John and his team finally saying STFU and going off to find Elizabeth. Epic win, y/y?)

Yeah! *crosses fingers* But, this show is.... Like, there's sci-fi, and then there's Farscape. When my ex-roomie and I were watching it for the first time (and we're both huuuuge sci-fi nerds), we'd often just stop and have conversation that went along the lines of: "WHAT?!" "I DUNNO. I MEAN, SERIOUSLY?!" "I KNOW!" (Yes, shouted...in shrieky, disbelieving voices, lol.)

Gross. I was never coherent until like, 11. That might have had more to do with it being lunch time though, lol.

Wait, there's a plot that we know of for the movie?! Or has Torri just lol'd and said she's not doing it...? WANTS TO KNOW.
I have a pipe dream that involves the movie resolving the Weir storyline and ending with Sheppard/Weir sexing times. ALAS. D:

Hehee! my parents aren't big flailers, alas. i have discovered this through bsg. my dad gave me weird looks whenever put on my shippy googles and squeed.

i'm not sure i'm coherent yet! it's been a long day. and hot. gross.

oh, no. i just assume there's no way they're that awesome. i give them no benefit of the doubt, and predict that this movie will contain just the same kind of morally skewy ethics and john/rodney banter and the rest of the cast with one or two lines and absolutely no mention of their fearless leader (WHO, BY THE WAY, DIED TO SAVE YOUR SORRY ASSES. TWICE. GRR.)

I like your pipe dream. alas. :(

(how's that fic coming? ^^)

Laaaaame. The flailing is the best part sometimes!

It's been cold and rainy and I totally used my PTO to leave early again, lol. Blah day.

Haha, okay, that's what I was thinking BUT I wouldn't put it past an industrious fan to find the script and post spoilers.
I have doubts the movie will ever get made.

(Tonight I have: 1) Did a load of laundry, which is still sitting in the washer because I am lazy; 2) Read 50 pages of my book; 3) Fell asleep reading said book and napped; 3) Changed the colors of [livejournal.com profile] likeyouimagined; 4) Did not work on fic. ^^ I know where it's going! And how to get there! I just wasn't feeling ~creative~ today.)

We have to discuss BSG! Though I'm still in denial about the final. I refuse to believe in anything that doesn't involve A/R living in a cabin in Denialand.

Also. Took me like two seconds to figure out where the quote is from. Scary. So no psychoanalysis. The why is obvious - because it's a great show. You learn quotes not knowing about it and then you just randomly write them out. Or something.

From: [identity profile] hihoplastic.livejournal.com
yes! indeed we do. it was awesome. so much awesome! and the finale! (and, um, yes. very much so in denialand. i shall join you! and we shall make tea and cookies and squee over how adorable they are.)

i love that quote. i love that episode. i love cj. i love that show. i need to watch more west wing.

Did you love the BSG finale?? Because I did! &Hearts; but fandom, kinda, seemed to not. Overall. haha. I always fall on the unpopular side of the fence.

When are you going away??

I did! I cried through most of it, but. I thought they did a good job tying everything together.

i leave on the 31st for NY, and then for Tel Aviv on the 3rd! are we going to skype soon??? pretty please?

It truly does. And yet i love it. And yet it fails. *puts on blinders and clings to the awesomeness of lizzeh*

IRK?! i really loved the way they wrapped everything up - minus the fact that she died. i mean, i get it. and it was beautiful and perfect and all that good stuff but still! :(

I want to! Though, i have to watch Farscape first. Otherwise my friend might hunt me down, hee.
