DO I HAVE ANY PARTICULARLY GOOD CJ/TOBY EPS TO RECOMMEND?! Only, like, A MILLION.
No, but seriously, yeah, I have (quite) a few.
ITSOTG2, for sure, where you see when CJ/Toby first start for the campaign, and then "The Leadership Breakfast" has some good CJ/Toby drama revolving around Ann Stark, and then "Manchester 1&2" I love because of the whole CJ in trouble, wanting to quit, Toby not wanting her to aspect, and then, OF COURSE, "Women of Quman" WHICH IS SO TOTALLY A FABU CJ/TOBY EPISODE (OMG HIS HANDS ON HIS HEART (SEE ICON!) AND "SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS TOBY"). "The Red Mass" and "Debate Camp" I both love (even though it's the beginning of the Andi gets pregnant storyline), and then "Holy Night" with Toby's dad ("He used to make lady's raincoats and before that he worked for Murder, Incorporated. ... Man, it really is snowing.") and "The Long Goodbye" just for that moment when she doesn't answer Toby's phone call and sleeps with Marco instead (BECAUSE THEIR LOVE IS LOST BECAUSE OF ANDI'S BABIES) and then (GOD!) "Evidence of Things Not Seen" ("I have faith in us." "You and me?" "And the people in this room." Jesus, it's so awesome.) and then "Twenty-Five" (and "Babies come with hats" & the way CJ presses her hand to her heart and it's SO FROM "WOMEN OF QUMAR").
And then season five was an abyss, except for "Full Disclosure," where Toby was the only one who knew that CJ had had a thing with Hoynes and they have all these beautiful moments, and god. Seriously.
And then S6&7 I'm not great on, except that "Drought Conditions" is, like, one of the greatest CJ/Toby eps EVER (Toby cries and CJ's there and "Can this be one of those nights we get drunk and forget we work together?"), and they have a tearful goodbye in "Mr. Frost" and "Here Today," as well as their REAL AND HONEST TO GOD GOODBYE in "Institutional Memory." "You show up here at 8 o'clock at night with a bottle of wine asking me about a pardon we both know is out of the question telling me about a man who's crowding you. I think a lot of things." "Jesus Christ, just watch it here.
...
That was maybe more than you were expecting? Sorry, they really are my very, very favorite ship of all time. I'm kind of a freak for knowing about that list, though, to be fair, I did have to look up the titles of all the episodes from the later seasons. Well, most of them. Some of them. A few.
I'm a tool. Anyway, I can wheedle that down some if you need me to. In fact, I probably will just for fun anyway.
this reply contains spoilers from all 7 seasons (in case you haven't seen them all)
