Firefly is a very good idea, actually. It's very funny and accessible, and yes, very short (WOE). Even my best friend, who hates sci-fi (WTF how did I finish up BFFs with a sci-fi hater?), claims to be willing to watch it, though we haven't actually gotten around to it yet.
